I replaced my FPR a while ago and have had the fast couple of times the intake has been off to get the thing to seal. I have replaced the cooper crush washer they areas have been clean and made sure they were flat, and so on. But the original crush washer had a o-ring of some sort on the lower crush washer. im wondering if anyone has found away around this to get them to seal OR have any sort of cheat to get it to seal? This issue is fairly annoying, always low on fuel pressure upon starting, and fumes always leaking out. Looking for any part numbers or recommendations on how it should be fixed?

Thanks,
David

Use an o-ring. If the crush washer that came with it didn't have one and one was there before, you just need to buy one and place it where the old one was at.

Don't cheat, especially when it concerns fuel injection.

The o-ring on that washer is just to locate the washer and to keep it from falling off the regulator during assembly. The copper (only supposed to be reused a limited number ) washers are what seal against the rail.

This. and it isnt so much of an O-ring more of a rubber insert and it doesnt affect the sealing ability.

Any ideas on if they're available?

I Checked at autozone and they said they didn't carry anything like that. I may end up checking at some of the other stores around here. At the moment it has a copper crush washer from weslakes in it. It looks like im going to end up doing more searching on the world wide web to see if anyone has this darned thing some where.

And DVP it may end up coming to that.

Found a Part number, E9DZ 9154 C, and they're gone apparently.

Try an oil drain plug washer from a Powerstroke. Works flawlessly. Right thickness, right ID, right hardness, very good replacement. You do need to be more careful when you take the rail apart, though, as the bottom washer will just sit there (instead of being held to the FPR or damper by the rubber) and can very easily be knocked into the valley.

I replaced mine with drain washers on the previous car back in 2001-ish, so you should check those year ranges. I brought it to my local parts counter back when I knew everyone there.

Thanks a ton!!! i looked them up 3.49 on autozone and they even have them in stock! i shall be buy the box and a injector rebuild kit to clean the injectors up while im in there! And i'll be able to stop my car from ALWAYS smelling like gas and having to prime the fuel system to get it to start!
:thankyou: :salute:
