The lurch is somewhat a desired effect as it is designed to put you in the next gear with 10-15PSI instantly (as in, it never drops lower than what that engine load would produce). There's no way your feet will match what bouncing it off a set shift rev limiter will do for keeping the turbo spooled, unless you just want to bounce it off the 7-8,000 RPM limiter.

If you ever make it out here, you can take my STi down our local drag strip.

think about my setup though Jay, with all that piping, and my fast shifts, I never lose all my boost anyway.... you know how I drive it. lol

You still need to drive what I'm talking about. After owning this, SHO's are just freeway cruisers to me. :)

hence the reason I may sell it. driving a 500 hp wrx is a whole different animal... I've also been looking into full drag cars(classics). I want a Nova, a Mustang, or something turbo'd from the factory. I'll be honest, I'm tired of tearing this car apart to throw a new crank in it every 2 years. I'm also tired of all the other quirks. :(
