I know there is another thread about Milan but I just thought I would throw this in here. It is discussed briefly here: http://shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=27257
I plan on getting a few of my friends to go with their cars but it would be sweet if we could get a bunch of sho's to go. Post what you think, if it's not a good date or something we could reschedule i suppose, i got the date off of that thread. Also, if you don't know how to get there we could all meet somehwere before hand and then cruise up there together.

Man, I would like to go but I dunno, Lapeer isn't the nicest track really. Depending on if I can get time off I may be there. They don't have any track prep and the traction at launch is atrocious. I am not trying to be a party-pooper, I just wish there was a nicer track closer. I personally live within an hour of three badass tracks, Norwalk, Dragway 42, and National Trails. If you guys ever wanna head into Ohio, I will probabyl already be at one of the tracks.

I'll be there and was going to make an announcement on it here but found this topic already opened. I want to get a group of us together to attend the event, it's not the best track in the world, but for those who need practice it's great.

I will be there however I'll only be a spectator since my lovely clutch is slipping and I need to get as much wear out of it right now as I can.

i'll be there and beth you can be the one who blows my car up at the track and not me cause i know it will happen since this damn curse always raises it's head at the most horrible times, so maybe with someone else driving nothing will happen

Whimp. You should see Nick *'s clutch. There's NOTHING left of it. Dual Diaphragm PP still looks good though. :)

Are you going? If so bring a spare clutch with you and lots of tools and I'll run. :) :laugh_ti:

Just kidding, I'm actually planning on squeezing as much time out of this clutch as I can. It's not bad yet, but if I ran the car it would break.

Spread the word folks, let's make this an official meet. :thumb:

We are hopefully looking at better weather than last Fall!! Long-range forecast is for nighttime lows of 42, and a high of 64 & cloudy that day....sounds like decent conditions to me.

Yeah, the "amenities" at Lapeer are not the best, but the track surface is better than most. Most of the whining in the Detroit area about Lapeer is due to the old track surface, but they totallly resurfaced it in '99. When I started going there in '00, the surface was far better than Milan (where I used to run).

The key thing for these outings is that just about everybody has no interest in running in Eliminations, and is just out to get a bunch of runs in a Test-N-Tune environment. Ths is why we like going to Lapeer on Saturdays. Even on the most crowded day we ever had a few years ago, we still got 6-8 runs in, and most Saturday's will allow an easy 20 runs. Even last October after we had to dry the track, many folks still got a fair number of runs in.

Traction for the hot cars is usually pretty good, although last October wasn't, due to the cool, damp weather and not many hot cars laying down a fresh rubber layer. But, that would have been a problem that day at any track in the area.

Another note for folks in the area is that we will have our usual BS session on Friday night at Big Buck (Opdyke & University), Saturday dinner in Lapeer, then another round of swapping lies at Big Buck on Saturday night. Most out-of-town folks are staying at the Marriott Courtyard next door, so they can stumble back to their rooms!

We will probably get there 12:30 - 1:00 PM-ish. Although they open at Noon, thy usually don't get rolling until around 12:30.

We try to grab spots along the fence farther back between the two entrances to the pit road. A bit more grass there along the fence, and easy to get on the pit/return road.

After our session at Big Buck Friday night, the folks who stay in that area usually head to my place on the way to the track around 11 Saturday morning, and we hang out for a bit (I live right off M24 Lapeer road on he way to the track). A few miles up the road, in Oxford, is a place that sells giggle juice for those that need it.

Caravan?

I will be coming from SE Grand Rapids (Kentwood) for Lapeer. Is there anyone from this area or close by that would like to caravan? I will be going through Lansing as well, if anyone wants to meet up there.

SHOman247, you work right by where I live, I see your SHO at the pontiac dealership all the time. Hit me up on AIM or something I'll roll with you.
