Hey All, Got a new problem recently noticed just after normal vehicle start. Knocking sound that repeats several times and appears to be coming from the center console area. I'm thinking some pre-start gear selector mechanical setup is being initiated, but can't be sure. Sound familar to anyone?

My suspicion would be similar to yours, that the shift lockout solenoid is triggering intermittently. Have you happened to notice if your brake lights flicker at the same time? Does it change if you remove your foot from the brake pedal? Does the sound stop if you shift to neutral?

Thanks Rod. I'm taking it to the golf course today and will test. From memory, I believe I have backed out of drive and proceeded forward on teh street and it was still knocking. So, I think foot was off pedal, but shifting into N will be the test.

After a little research, turns out this is coming from the passenger side dash and appears to be the AC blend door actuator. Pretty simple fix. New actuator is around $20 and can easily be replaced. It is located just behind the glovebox. Glovebox just unclips to get access to the actuator. Awaiting part and I will replace myself.
