Hi everyone, new to the site here. I have a 94 3.2 atx with 233k. I noticed a knocking noise coming from the timing cover about 2 years ago, ended up driving it from texas to north carolina about 2 years ago, and it has sat since. Finally got some time to pull it apart, and I see that the timing belt tensioner has ate a hole in the cover:scared: I bought the car back in 05 with 180k, and they claimed that a 60k service had just been done. I can see the pulley hitting the cover when i run the engine now. I havent had any luck finding these parts.. Any Ideas, I miss driving the ol girl

The problem is probably a bad timing belt tensioner, which is often skipped when a 60k is performed. I too found out the hard way that I should've replaced my tensioner, as mine went out only a few thousand miles after I did a 60k.

Slogan of the SHO regarding maintenance: Might as well do everything while you're in there.

Yep, I bought one of those SHOSource tensioners Matt linked there. Btw, Matt, I know on the site yall have a 45 day period for cores. I never sent mine back since the new one yall sent me sat in the box for long while before I could get around to changing it. The old one has been laying in a cobwebbed corner of my garage floor since I did the swap and tossed it in disgust because of the fact it failed me. Do yall need cores?
