My buddy has a 2004 (LS1) 4-speed auto GTO with a tune and he would not quit talking about how fast it was since he got it tuned. I finally got sick of it and ran him with my 2013 stock non-pp. Surprisingly, I got him by 2 cars the first time and 1 car the 2nd time. From what I read, a tuned GTO should take down a stock SHO, so I'm not sure what happened, but the SHO never trailed and just walked him to the finish. I really wish I was tuned just to make it hurt worse.

Sorry for the humble brag, but it seems that no one ever wants to go against the SHO...mainly bc they don't know what it's capable of...

Humble brags on LS kills are more than welcome!
It seems the GTO's are not as quick as they should be.
I've raced two 6.0L goats and one 5.7, with the little Taurus eating all three. But my friend has a stock G8 GT and it's significantly closer than any of the GTO's.

A LS1 GTO with a tune should be down in the 12's with a competent driver who can launch the car. That said, a car is no faster than the driver so good win.

+1 on the driver... And most have seem to have a challenge hooking on the streets. (In Mexico)

I met a G8 GXP once in Mexico. He couldn't leave me, as I hung with him side by side. Needless to say, he wasn't happy. He slammed on the brakes and turned around....

Man - you're leaving out the best part! What was his reaction? What did he say?

Not to ruin your thread but I raced a new Camaro SS last Saturday night. He was actually in front of me and got on the gas. So I followed in pursuit, then when traffic opened up with nothing but pavement in front of us (in Mexico) he got on it and I did also. I reeled him in and started to pass him. Now I'm confused! I was always under the impression a tuned SHO like mine will beat them off the line, but that V8 starts to overpower the SHO at higher speeds. Why was I catching and passing him? Was he not trying 100% or will our tuned SHOs beat them to "X" mph...??

I'm assuming it was 09-15...
The '16 Camaros are a bit more scary than the previous gen!
I've taken down three '13 Camaros on highway pulls!
I haven't had one come around me yet...
The stock Coyotes I can take on a roll for a bit, but around 100 they will bust me on the top end.:shame:

Maybe a 2015 because it had the newer rectangle tail lights...

I have race a lot of things in Mexico, sho's are hard to **** because of the launch. I use to have both goats. Neither one was impressive in the 1/4. My 5.7 ran a 14.2 6.0 went 13.7. They are heavy too. Best part of the goats is top end. Pass 3rd gear is when they get happy.
