How close is the house to your car when this works? Unless they're only separated by a couple of feet (unlikely) it sounds like something's not right. Have you tried docking the key in the center console and seeing if you can still swipe to get in? If so, it definitely sounds like the proximity system is not working correctly.

It is like I have my key in my house. I went to Ford to sho them and I have an appointment to see my car.

I can lock my car and walk in the house to drop off the key and them walk back out and do about a few swipes down. All four doors and them the trunk will open with seat setting at 2.

I could not fine my 5 digit code even though I have it memorized, but there was GPS and my PMP player taken in my car. Somehow my insurance will not pay for the replacement of the module to reset the key code but they will pay for new locks if my keys were taken.

This one Ford dealership told me I could change my Master code even though two other dealerships have told me I have to replace the module to get a new key code. I somehow reading in my owner’s manual to do everything about the keyless entry and that is how I found out about swiping the key pad to get in.

The dealership that said they could change the Master code maybe wasn't thinking "Master" code, but rather adding a user defined code. A professional or dealer scan tool will allow them to view the Master code, but it sounds like you want a new code.

With the seat setting itself to stored position #2, do you know where both key fobs are? Maybe one is hiding under the hood or somewhere that the car is picking up on. If you can have both fobs in the house (heck, move them to the opposite side of the house just to be sure) and still open the car, that definitely would indicate a problem.

Please keep us in the loop with what you find as if this is a flaw, there are a bunch of us that will want to know about it!

It would be interesting to see if the trunk release works from the rear license plate area. That may help you determine if it's a problem with the driver's door proximity sensor or with the remote entry system. You mention the trunk will open but I'm not sure if that's from the keypad or from the rear button.

Maybe somehow you programmed a user defined code by accident?

what is funny about the other options everything work right and I disconnected the battery where all that I can have in my pocket is the manual door key when going in a water park, the prices for a small locker is $9. That is highway robbery. I am sure we all know we cannot swim with our keys in our pockets. I am thinking the cods I have entered in the past would have erased.
I don’t know about any one else’s keys but I can’t lock the whole key in the car. What I close the door it bees twice and unlocks the door.

Both of my keys are close together when I have them in the house; one is on the wall and the other is on the counter in the kitchen. The kitchen is about 25 normal steps straight out to the car, and if a step is a yard then it would be 25 yards away.

Even if the code some I entered was swiping down the key pad it take about three to four swipes. I think that would be 15 to 20 numbers.

But the good news I have the car in Ford now to have it looked at and thank you for all your help.

Mine works fine and I can't unlock the door or the trunk with the key in the house. I know that if I try to leave a key in the car it will not lock. I did change my lock from two stage to single stage, so that all the doors unlock with the first hit of the remote or the first swipe of the keypad. I've always thought the 2 stage unlock was a PITA but I do understand why some like it. My wife thinks it is a much safer entry system with the 2 stage unlock.

Ford called me last night and they told me they will be changing the device and programming the new master code. The good news is that it my plain of trying to change the code is coming though from my insurance or ford to pay for it. I don’t have to spend close to 600 to change the key code. Hope fully my items will be safe from now on. And I am still going to get a camera to watch to see how know my code around my house to charge them for thief.

That's the way it is here, Mark. I like stage one and Marg likes stage two for the same reason.
Must be a gal thing.
I have noticed that mine occasionally takes a few stabs at locking by pushing the last 2 digits on the pad tho.
Otherwise I'm quite happy with it.
