keyless entry question (different than the others)

when i got my car it didnt have a keyless entry remote, or the original keys, so i'm figuring the people before me lost it or something. anyways i got a remote from my girlfriends ex's car that he totaled and i was wondering if i could program it to work with my car? i don't even know if all the hardware is hooked up or if it even came with the car, and where it would be?

Do a search. Your questions will be answered there. FYI ...... 92 Keyless is different than 93. I found out the hard way. If you have a ant. coming out of your remote box in the back, chances are it might be able to be programed. Then again it might not.

I just programed a pair of new remotes for my 95. If the numbers at the back of your remote is:
FCC ID GQ43VT4T
3165189
then use the following instructions, will only take 2 -3 mins to program.

BEFORE YOU START TWO THINGS
(a) PROGRAM ALL REMOTES AT THE SAME TIME.
(b) MAKE SURE THAT OTHER FORD REMOTES ARE NO CLOSER THAT 30 YARDS BECAUSE THEY MAY ALSO GET PROGRAMED.

OKAY HERE GOES AGAIN IT IS VERY VERY SIMPLE

(1)TURN IGNITION TO RUN OR ACC.

(2) MOMENTARILY JUMP PINS IN PROGRAMING CONNECTOR, LOCATED IN LEFT REAR QTR PANEL AREA.{JUST MOVE THE CARPET BACK FROM AROUND THE LEFT REAR STRUT TOWER AND YOU WILL SEE THE CONNECTOR. IT HAS TWO WIRES ONE GRAY + YELLOW STRIPE, SECOND ONE WHITE + YELLOW STRIPE). ONCE YOU JUMP THE CONNECTOR ALL DOORS WILL LOCK THEN UNLOCK TO CONFIRM PROGRAMMING MODE.

(3)PRESS ANY BUTTON ON 1ST TRANSMITTER, DOOR LOCKS WILL CYCLE TO CONFIRM PROGRAMING. PRESS ANY BUTTON ON 2 ND TRANSMITTER(UP TO 4 TRANSMITTERS TOTAL POSSIBLE)

(4)TURN IGNITION OFF. LOCKS WILL THEN CYCLE AGAIN TO INDICATE END OF PROGRAMING MODE.

THE ABOVE WILL WORK ON 92 - 95 TAURUS/SABLE AND 93 -97 COUGARS. i ALSO HAVE THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR 96 - 2000 TAURUS/ SABLE
