The instructions for programming the remote should come with it, if not I am sure someone here can post this up. I believe that it is pretty straight forward. I myself have to buy another one cuz my g/f let mine fall off my key ring. rant

If your SHO has power door locks, it can have a keyless entry remote. To program, I belive you put the key in, with the remote on the ring, and turn it from "off" to "on" about 8 times, the doors will lock, and unlock once, and then your remote should be programed.

I might be thinking of the way to program the security key though.

Does your car have a keypad on the door? If so, the car came from the factory with RKE. If not, you'll have to look in the upper-left-hand corner of the trunk, under the package shelf between the left speaker and left rear strut tower for the RKE module, which is about 3"x3"x3.5".

Or, you could install your own if you don't have factory. If you want, I can get you all the color codes and locations of all the wires you'll need. My job has its perks :)

Is this the part that I'm looking for? If so, when I try to short the two pins (that the arrow points to), it just sparks. It does not lock the doors. Am I close?

By looking at the pic you have the RKE module, does it have a radio antenna plug type thing in it? If not it's like mine in my 90 that you cannot use a Key fob for. I got a new one with a antenna from the junk yard....anyone know *** to do a rewire? I remember the topic once before but can't find it.

I'll take a closer look, but I don't remember seeing an antenna type plug. But I was under the impression that any 2nd gen with auto locks can use a key fob.

I found one of those modules in an 88 wagon I am dismantling, so it had RKE?? The module in my 92 is a lot different. Time for some wire tracing!!!!

On my 94, I found the two pin connector tucked behind the carpet on the left side of the trunk, just to the left of the strut tower (in that area). It should be the only connector hanging around by itself. It was like that in my 95 also.

Anyone know how to program the key fob for a DEI remote start system? I don't like the way mine is set up. On my fob I push I to lock and I to unlock, push I and II to start the car, and I nothing happens with II by itself. I have the old fob that came from ford but no batteries. It has the power trunk button, unlock, lock, and a horn button. On my parents bonneville's DEI remote start system I locks, II unlocks, I and II start the car, if you hold I the interior lights flash on and off, and if you hold II the trunk pops open. Can anyone help me?
