I need to change my code in my key pad, now I know how to make a personal code and change that but, I need to change the permanently set code. So, my question is can I simply change a module in the Dr. door, or do I need to do more than that. Also, is my little key chain "clicker" connected to the keypad or are they seperate systems. Thanx,
Doug

To change the factory preset code.

Your key fob transmitter is "separate" from the door key pad, so to speak. The keyless entry module in the trunk can be programmed to operate with different transmitters. When I bought my MTX it didn't come with a key chain transmitter. I had one from my ATX at that time, so I programmed the MTX to use the current key chain transmitter. I could use it on both cars.

Do you know if I change the resistors in my keypad box in the trunk so that my factory keypad code is changed if that will render my key chain "clicker" useless? I want to change my permanent keypad code, but I still need my "clicker" which is programmed to my car. So, will changing my keypad code make it not respond to my "clicker"?

The transmitter should still work fine. In the event you must re-program your transmitter to the car, do this.
