key getting stuck in igntion

what would cause the key not to be able to be shut off all the way, like i will park the car and sometimes the key wont turn off the last bit of turn.. i can bop the shifter a few time move it in and out and then it will let the key go

My mom's 98 GP GT does the same thing.

You just had the engine and trans out right?
Make sure the shifter cable is adjusted properly.
If it doesn't go into park all the way it won't return the key to lock.

thats what im starting to think it never ends i cant beleive this crap what a pos lol is about how i feel with this car

well it was fine for a while the car does go to park and not move (guess that still dont say its right....)

but i will add this when i hooked up the cable i pulled the shifter to the #1 spot and pulled it all the way down and pushed the lever deal on the trans to the last spot(#1) and it got in the same spot from b4 and i tightened it up.

i think its more somthing with the shifter or what every stops it from letting the key come out...??
how would i **** it just spay some Wd-40 or like in there ?
