Are there alternative products for cleaning and lubing the K&N air cleaner besides the K&N kit? I am tempted to use Castrol Super Clean, but I was told that this chemical is too severe. 409? (I don't know why they named it that, those engines really didn't run that well in the '60's)
What is everyone using for ****?
Thanks
Bill

Why not just drive down to autozone and pick up a recharge kit for 9.99? I just don't see why you would want to use something else.

If the K&N kit is what everyone is using, fine. The only problem is the closest Auto Zone is 140 miles away. (The local auto parts stores are considerably higher.)
