K&N Drop-In Filter or No?

I've been running the same K&N for the last 350k miles. It's the original MAF.

On a stock vehicle with minor upgrades or no other modifications a k&n intake or drop in air filter are going to do nothing more than waste your money and let dirt into your engine because quite frankly, those filters suck at actually filtering. That's how they flow better.

I run the AEM filter since it is a dry filter that does not require oil

Every vehicle that I have personally seen or owned with any oiled air filter has had a dirty mafs and ran noticeably better after cleaning the mafs. I throw them away and put on a dry filter and that solves the dirty mafs problem.

K&N 33-2040 I believe is the correct filter. I see it available but not commonly and price seems to be from $80-$100 CAD.

If you're looking for one, I have one from my '95 that has maybe 10k on it. I'd be glad to let it go for $35 plus shipping. Also have the steel, in-fender cold air intake tube and a C&L 73mm MAF.

I confirm 33-2040 and also use them a lot. Any MAF problems will be caused by over-oiling them.

I concur with that response. Over 400,000 miles on the only K&N my car has ever known with never a MAF-oiling issue. When all else fails, read the (K&N) instructions.
