Temp gauge inop so did a flush & replaced sender. Simple quick job right! Finishing up & toping off with water when I see a drip coming from sender I just replaced. Pull air box again & give it a 1/8 turn & coolent goes from a drip to a run! So I get a good view & see the sender cracked the housing! Threads were clean & 1 layer of teflon tape! So I start tearing it apart to replace that PIA housing & one thing leads to another & while I'm this far may as well do this too!

In the new cleaned up housing & with even another new sender I could only get a couple of threads in before it got tight. So...

So I had to pull the intake to make sure I got the new 'O' ring on the cross over tube seated & those long bolts on the head make it so the whole coolent manifold has to go straight in. So since the intake was off decieded to gasket match & my as well pull the VC's Do the upper 60K & I just can't put dirty parts back on her! LOL

Awesome pics there buddy.

Did it take some time to port with these burrs? On the first look , it seems it's metal burrs , not aluminum ones. I always wanted to know if there's such a differance between Alu & metal burrs on aluminum (time wise, or the burrs getting filled with aluminum quickly).

'donkey-****' mod ???
Yea you have to have a non-SHO vehicle to drive when you own multiple SHO's that all need work! It was suposed to be an afternoon's job & weeks later I'm still working on it!

I know how that goes...
I crawled under it to check the exhaust manifold on the 289 2v....
Lane side
And ended up Swapping a 4-speed toploader and 351 Windsor into it. As well as sanding down to the steel, erecting a paint booth in my garage and spraying it myself. With 2000 Ford Taurus Graphite Blue Metallic. A brand new color...at the time.

And did I mention that I swapped the front seats...

Thanx & it took 3-4 hours on each head to gasket match & port. I have a pretty coarse diamond cutter to hog out the Aluminum & I found applying bearing greese with your finger on the area to be removed lubed the bit so it did not get cloged & it also trapped a lot of the AL bits. Followed up with drum sanders & the fine sand by hand. A lot of time was spent preping for the operation & vacuming in between doing each port.

LOL

Donkey **** is that pipe insulator on the waterpump tube. It's the stuff "some kids" would steal from construction sites to put on the handle bars and frame of their BMX bikes...for padding.
