I purchased a 16 Sho last night after giving my wife my 21 Ford Ranger XLT. I just wasn’t happy with it. I already ordered the usb hub for Apple play today and it should arrive by Tuesday. I do have to say the a\c seats are kinda nice. It didn’t come with the Sony setup so I am going to try do some research on adding and upgrading to a Sony. Sorry got off topic a little. My name is Jamie but aeveryone calls me turbo. I am a retired automotive technician. But I am only 47 years old. Any way I look forward to chatting With everyone.

Welcome to the group! As for the Sony package, I have it and while it is better than the stock setup, I probably wouldn't spend the money to convert to it. With already having a base system, I'd probably look to just upgrade the components and then get a Maestro RR and a good Pioneer or Kenwood touchscreen to control everything and get away from the Sync screen altogether.

i want to take advantage of the 12 speaker setup. i guess first i need to see if its prewired from the factory for the factory amp and wires to the 6x9 and the 3.5 inch speaker.
i like my music loud and dont really want to replace the head unit to an aftermarket setup.

I have to second @FiveLeeter918 . I had the Sony setup. It was not near loud enough or clear enough. I upgraded to Infinity Kappa for all of my speakers (Ithink there are only 10. 2 tweeters in the a-post, 1 speaker in each door, 1 center in the dash and rear deck, and 2 outboard in the rear deck) I even put baffles and dynomat in. I also upgraded my Sync 2 to Sync 3 (mine was 2015, I think you should have Sync 3 already). Still left a lot to be desired on all levels. I would highly suggest Maestro RR from previous experience. You can look at their site and see what features will carry over to your head unit. It will also add the option of gauges and a few other features. I think this will be the route I go with my new SHO.

Found an interesting "trick" tonight. *Not responsible for blown speakers!* If you have ForScan, go into the ACM. There is an option for "Max Volume". Mine was set to a lower setting (I think 60?). I bumped it to 263-100. It is much louder now. Only complaint is it seems to reset to mid volume on the dial any time I restart the car and I have to manually turn the dial backup.

Welcome, as a SHO owner now for only 4 months, my only advice is to keep your checkbook open, once the upgrades start, you'll find it hard to stop .

interesting, I may have to check this out. On MFT I was able to activate the equalizer presets which were cool, and kinda miss that here. I'm not normally one to listen to really loud music so wherever it's set right now is good for me, but I might have to look and see if there are new updates since the last time I played with it.

I do need to get into Forscan anyway tonight and check my body codes. Been having an issue where if I set the AC to 71-72 once the air gets to temp the whole face of the Sony panel turns off and the only way I can get it to come back on is to push the AUTO button. Need to see it it's popping a code, and also noticed since it was 48* when I took the kids to school this morning my seat heater stopped working again, joy.

Do you remember how you did this? Did not see it as an option on the spreadsheet. I am back to MFT/SYNC2 until I can get my SYNC3 system out of my wrecked car and installed in this one. May be a little while. i heard there is a way to mod the antenna/harness to run radio and GPS off the one on the roof.

I am pretty sure I saw this Max Volume option on SYNC3 but did not mess with it as I did not know what it was.

It would be nice to start/revive a ForScan thread and include explanations of what each setting is. I usually just see a limited spreadsheet with how to modify the Hexadecimal codes. The more simple Enable/Disable menu seems to have a lot of options but, I do not know what they are for.

Do any of you guys know if the reck deck is prewired from to factory? i am getting ready to order replacement speakers. if it is prewired then i may go ahead and order the 6x9's and use the other 3.5 in the rear deck.

This is the one I used.
