Hi, i'm planning on ordering these, DORMAN Part # 31098 from http://www.rockauto.com. I've read up about the different bushings available and i just wanna see if anyone else has used these on the front and rear of their car. Also i read somewhere how the police bushings have the four studs on top, which these have in the pic, and how you have to drill out the subframe to make those fit. Does that sound right? or can i just throw these right in without drilling, thanks for any help

You can pay $100 for a set of those from RockAuto or you can pay $140 for a set of Gen III bushings from SHONUT. The latter is by far the better value.

IMO, you ought to save up another $40 and contact Josh. ;)

That part looks exactly like the POS's I just replaced on mine. The GENIII bushing are a lot stiffer. On my old ones the metal fitting that held the 4 small bolts torn away from the rubber. The GENIII bushing uses no small bolts. It seems they rely on clamping pressure from the bolt and more surface bearing area. I'd highly recommend the GENIII bushings.:thumb:

I just installed the Gen III bushings and the car drives so much better. You need four upper half and four lower half REAR subframe bushings for a '96-'99 SHO. The rear bushings are used at all four corners on the Gen I/II. Any Ford dealer can order them for you, and the cost is about the same or less than the online SHO parts sellers once shipping is taken into account. Figure around $100.
