I'm swapping with another member so I've only weighed my rotors and they've measured the weight of the fronts. About a 5lb difference in the fronts alone. Rears being vented vs non vented is going to be pretty big I think

Not sure if this is on the radar, but what about removing stock fuel tank for a little 5 gallon one or something just for the pass? That might save you a good chunk of weight. I think the only options for you at this point would be billet aluminum parts or carbon parts for weight, you're pretty much to the limit at this point.

Edit: Maybe take the LT headlight out for a couple lbs?

Still plan on driving the vehicle around so not really interested in fuel cell or many exterior modifications. However hvac behind the dash has been on my radar in the last couple weeks but not sure if I want to make that jump.

Could always do plexy windows too, that would shave some weight and with the door panels apart you're pretty much there. Probably only run you around $200 or less for the plexy

Yes, I've talked to my glass guy about doing some windows when he was replacing the windshield for me at one point. Definitely a thought to consider.

#3500lbsho incoming

Ooo that would be awesome, maybe your weight reduction efforts have been a contributing factor to your trans which has defied the odds thus far?!

That’s a nice weight savings, didn’t you have or had Wilwoods already? I am only asking because I am buying new calipers, rotors, pads etc for my fronts this week. I was thinking the 4–piston Wilwood’s were the lightest but....

Yeah, weight reduction definitely contributes to the trans being alive. 3500lbs is just the goal but not the stopping point! And no I've just had stock brakes as my weight reduction is usually cheap or free lol but the rotational mass savings will be huge!

Yeah I got that out already while I took the engine out. Well I guess I need to remove more of the lines going into the firewall. And I need a smaller belt now
I had to put the compressor back on because we need to sort another belt tensioner routing to get it to work

Another weight reduction step...lose the driver. EASY 175-225lb reduction right there!!!

Go full on self-driving!!!! LOL

Real talk, though...it's just a matter of time before some tries to drag race a self-driver. Haha

Que the music

While the new motor is being built he’s bench pressing the old one muttering STRONGER, LIGHTER, FASTER between every rep. :whip:
