The last set of rear caliper's I bought were $75 each, plus a core.

I believe any rear disc taurus/sable will work from 86-92 for the rear vented.

Ken check out that borla and see if there are an ZE's in there

Drew and I looked two days ago. Didn't see it there anymore.

And, the rear calipers from a SLO will work. The rear one's on Gen 2's and Gen 1's were the same from SLO to SHO!

gen 1's had vented rear disks and gen 2's did not thus IIRC the calipers are diffrent.

He meant that all Gen 1 (SLO & SHO) were the same, and all Gen 2 (SLO & SHO) are the same. Just remember that the switch to solid rear disk happened in 93, so there is 1 year of Gen 2 that still had the vented rotors of the Gen 1.

Also, there may be a difference between Gen 1 calipers. The SLO came with phenolic pistons, where the SHO had steel. It's very possible that there are SLOs with steel pistons, but I'd double check when you take it off the car. The phenolics had problems with getting soft with heat.

Sorry to hijack but I have a question. Since the gen 1s and the 92s had vented rear rotors can we just switch to gen 1 or 1992 rear rotors when we need new brakes as an upgrade or are the calipers different too?
