OK, i removed my stereo the other day and when i put it back the starter wouldnt turn, but everything else worked fine. theres a few things i have yet to try today, but is there something behind the stereo i dont know about? i highly doubt there is but i figure i might as well ask first.

no, no alarm, thats what i thought too, but no such luck. i just wasnt sure if there was some sort of main line going to the EEC or something back there.

If you consult the diagram I previously referred you to, you will see the entire circuit in a stock system. Start there.

thanks Steve, ive been mulling over the diagrams and unfortunately i have yet to locate my problem. that website is spectacular though, very detailed. i ended up having my car towed to ford so maybe theyll get to it tommorow, but im beginning to think it was probably my battery cables, i should have jumped the starter and checked it out but i didnt have an extra pair of hands, and knowing how dangerous it can be i decided against it. ill let you all know what ford says though. thanks~!

ok heres the deal, turns out someone installed a **** switch on the knee panel underneath the steering column and i must have bumped it. i just thought it was a valet switch for the alarm. i guess you learn something new about the car every day ::shrugs:: thank for the help guys! and steve, those diagrams are indispensable. i have them all printed out now! thumbs_u beer
