Is "O" Still OK?

Now that it's gotten up to 60-80 outside my coolant temp guage has been runnin around O to M. Durring the winter it never got up past M. My sender wasn't workin' right last summer til I replaced it so I've never really had a correct (well as close as the factory guage will get) reading from the summer. Is this still OK or is there something goin' on?

The gauge is a very vague reading... How new is your ECT?

i think it'll be ok, i've notice my temp gauge moving up a few letters as it's gotten warmer out (it was actually in the mid 70's today in MI..woohoo)..

i don't put much thought in it..but if i ever worry about it while i'm sitting in traffic, i'll just crank the heat, put all the windows down, and turn my fan as high as it will go to help disperse some heat..

As long as you're not using any climate control setting that cycles the compressor (basically any setting except off, vent, and floor), then yeah it's probably OK. If the a/c compressor is cycling, the fans should run constant and you should see a pretty steady temp, usually in the MAL range.

my temp always goes up to "N" then the radiatior kicks in and drops dramaticaly, like to the "MA" range, should i be worryed

This depends. You might have a thermostat that is opening late and closing early. Or you might have a ECT that isn't telling the fans to turn on untill it is too hot, or your gauge sender is out of whack. But, you shouldn't be approaching 'N'.

It might be easier for you to just turn on the 'auto' climate control setting for a second and then turn it back to where you had it. This will turn on the fans for a period of time, long enough that it will bring the temp down. A bit more pleasant than having heat blasting at you and probably much more effective.

Mine use to do the same thing. Then I replaced the temp sender and thermostat and now it reads correctly.
