It doesn't look like it. If you still have the old seal, turn its flat face to the flat face on that one and use a small hammer to tap it the rest of the way in.

Hey that old seal is an awesome trick, fell into place perfectly with no extra force, I was using a new (extra) poly endlink to tap it in with but must have been absorbing too much shock to get it in.. the old seal worked like a charm.. whatda think now?

I lay the carrier on the floor and place a board over the seal and step on it.

Mmmmmm....pretty engine. After all that work you did, you should have devised another way to lift it other than chains. There is a chance you might mess up that pretty paint job on the valve covers. Glad I could help.

yea i will say that I had to make sure the chain was facing the right way, and the weld was on the outside, but with the washer behind it it stays enough away I hope to not be a problem. :)

I agree... I used old valve covers or if none are available, rags.

:) I'll have to get a pic of the old block, glad I didnt have to clean that up. im going to fold up some shop rags I think and put them between the chain and valve cover just in hopes it wont scratch. Its all enamel and should be pretty tough, not as hard as pc tho.
