The front end of my car is making weird noises, something of a rumble/deep wallow. I'm thinking its maybe the wheelbearings, as its been doing it on and off for 6 months now, but never this bad, as its almost doing it everyday now. Its dependant on speed(anything over stopped) and it is independant of the engine as the engine speed and whether or not a gear is engaged or not does not make anydifference. My question is is it possible to grease up the bearings or hub or something, and if it is, how would i do it. Is it the same basic way as something like a boat trailer? Thanks

The wheel bearings are sealed bearings...they can't be disassembled and packed with grease like old school wheel bearings. If they act up, the only solution is to replace them.

A couple of tests for a bad wheel bearing:

Jack the wheel up, and yank it around. If it wobbles in all directions, you probably have a bad bearing.

Check the tightness of the big nut in the center of the hub. It is normally torqued to an obscene figure, like 180 lbs. or something if I remember right. If the wheel bearing is bad, it is very likely that the nut will be MUCH looser than this. (Tightening the nut is not the solution tho, it is loose because of internal wear in the bearing.)

without doing any tests, i can guarantee your wheel bearings are bad. replace them at once !
