name's JUSTIN
this is just a teaser, actaul install and writeup/pics to come. my setup right now-
pioneer head unit with an AUx-IN RCA adapter mounted in place of the ash tray, belekin connector to ipod for power and audio, connected to RCAs and to cigarette lighter.
in the works- a few things, including mounting everything behind the dash with just the ipod hookup coming out of the DIN pocket slot. this will include:
1) 2 secondary 12V cigarette ligter sockets tapped in to accesory power (so its on only when the ignition is on or ACC)
2) modify belekin adapter to bypass internal amp and provide pure preout, also possibly remove internal LED
3) mount ipod wired remote in place of redundant radio controls (most important part of install)
4)modify DIN slot so faceplate can be put in straight (anyone with one will know what im talking about, the angled piece at the back keeps it from fitting, and there is no reason to have that angle as the stock CD player fit)
5)run secondary 12V outlet into center console pocket.
this will allow me to keep my ipod in the DIN pocket, and change songs/pause/etc on the ipod through the remote's buttons, i keep my ipod on random 99% of the time so it will work great. the second 12V in the center pocket is just something that i'm doing at the same time cause ill ahve everything open anyway, i've found that one place to charge things isn't enough, and i like the hidden option. I already have 2 of the DIN pockets, and an extra set of the redundant radio controls, just waiting to see what car this is all going in to before i go ahead with all the install.

basically what i did was change my mind, instead of all the buisiness wit hthe ipod remote by the steering wheel, i built a mount that my ipod case slides in to out of an extra set of redundant radio controls that i got out of the junkyard. it looks great, i can't wait to get it in the car and wire everything up...
