An SHO #21 is in the lead at the 4 hour mark. Anyone know who they are? It's on the Chumpcar Facebook page. Awesome!

We took the lead on the first lap and held it for about 5 hours. The car owner took a three minute black flag penalty for missing a braking point and wiping out a wall of cones.

We were in contention for a podium spot the entire race... we had another stop and go penalty to remove a cone from under the car (this is what happens when a bunch of autocrossers convert to road racing) and we had a late excursion into a tire wall that required a tow out.

Considering this was our first full 24 hour race and four of our six drivers have never door to door road raced before, we are pretty happy with the outcome... plus the weekend was a blast!

THANK YOU to James for the wrenching and tech advice (and putting up with our awesome communication skillz), the guys at SHO Source and STLSHO... we couldn't do it without you guys!

We need more SHOs in ChumpCar!

We finished fourth.

The SHO could race with any car there except a super-cheaty E36 BMW that overcame 20 penalty laps to place second... it was a blast pulling away from cars on the oval portion of the track.

We had guys walking into our pit all weekend asking us "what was done to the engine", LOL.

whats the answer?

What have we done to the engine? "Add oil every two hours"

Like LeMons, ChumpCar is a $500 crapcan racing series, there's no budget for building engines. We had plenty of power with the 166,000 mile stock engine at Iowa, we easily pulled away from 90% of the field in the oval portion of the track.

Thanks to James and SHOSource the brakes are ridiculously efficient.

WTG guys! It is fun pulling other cars on the long straights. That's were the SHO's 3rd gear really shines.

At LeMons they are accusing us of having a cheater motor in our SHO. But they don't understand, a stock SHO is plenty fast, especially after it's been gutted. It's the American equivalent of an E30. IMO.

That cheater E36 should have gotten more penalty laps. If the rain hadn't come and you all raced the full 24 hours, they would have taken the lead.

We are thinking about going to the Harris Hill Chump race in Nov. Then next year probably do only Chumpcar.

Again, congrats!

They were good drivers in addition to having a super cheaty car... they could have made up 100 laps if they had driven harder earlier in the race.
