I dont have money for 600 dollar konis for my new sho....and i called pretty much every online vender whom thought they had tokicos left over but it turns out no one does so...i have a brand new set of gr-2's and brand new intrax springs.....i love the look of cuting 1 coil off each front spring and leaving the rear alone on gen 1's.....my question is since they are dead coils anyway will it matter if i cut them off for use with the crappy kyb's? i mean will the kybs last longer if i dont cut them off?.....btw i already know that these struts will be dead in about 2000 miles or so....i just want them to last as long as possible for now....
and another question......about my other set up....what setting on the konis matches the tokicos????i have tokico in rear and koni in front on my 95 mtx....

The closest setting for Koni / Tokico is the soft setting on the Koni. As to using KYB struts with -1 coil Intrax - be very careful. The KYB can not dampen the Intrax spring. It is not valved properly to control that type of spring. I used them on the wife's ATX with stock springs and took them off in about 4 months. It was like driving a boat. I think you will be very unhappy. I think you will find that if you go low, you must go fairly stiff or you will bottom out big time. I hear people are having some success with the sensa-trac.

sensacraps are just as bad....they lasted me 6 months with STOCK springs and were more expensive then the gr-2's....you guiys have to understand that i have these worthless brand new gr-2s sitting here....and i have a suspensionless 90 sho outside.....im just wondering if they will be good for around 3 months with the intrax.....i could have only bought 1 koni insert for the price of this whole set

I was running monroe's for a year and a half, on stock springs, and they still felt like new. Roughly 16K miles. To be honest with you, I've seen first hand how KYB's and Eibachs ride. Like shit wouldn't even begin to describe it. I can't even imagine how it'll ride with Intrax's. Save yourself the headache, and find a set of used Tokicos, or go with Koni's.

i found some used tokicos from my friends wrecked car.....they are in good shape.....there just isnt anything worth putting in with intrax other than koni or tokico......i was wrong about the sensatracs....i had them in with moog not stock......sorry.....the moogs are way stiffer than stock and thats why they crapped out on me. im just ****** that there is no fair priced well made struts....the konis to me are great and i have them....and were worth the $117 i paid from tire rack a while back....but now they are 155 everywhere.....or 138 at ajusa.com... we should get tein to make coilover for our car.....

Dude, I'd be hard pressed to recommend Stock springs on KYB GR-2's. I had the GR-2/ Eibach that Mr95GL was talking about... worst. mistake. evar. If I'd known the car had come with Eibach's I wouldn't have gotten the struts.

Sell the kyb's. Put that money in the bank and continue saving for the rest. Patience grasshopper. You are throwing money and time away by installing the kyb.

If you like taking your suspension apart you could install them and then take them out in a month, go get them warrantied and install the new ones, every month.

you could get them warrantied, then they'd be NEW again, and not worthless, and you could sell them, as NEW struts.

No need to even get them warrantied, as he said they're "brand new" to begin with.

I coulda taken them off your hands if they were so worthless to you.
