Hey this post is open but mostly for toolman. What are the measurments on the intercooler you use ? do you have any pics of it or how you mounted it. I have asho torn apart in the garage that im just installing a intercooler right now its got no motor and everything taking out. Wondering what size intercooler you were running. I was taking measurements looked like a a good 3 1/2 or 4 inch thick, maybe 12 inchs high and i didnt measure how long. any imput would be awesome. Thnx

I measured it once, but forgot. Here is a pic. Seems like the core, without end tanks, was 18 x 10 x 4.

17.5" x 3" flow area with 6" long boost channels here. I think the rule of thumb is the area of the flowing side of the cooler time .45 divided by 7 times 100 gives you the HP that it will support with low flow loss. i'd stay away from the import type ones that have like 2.5" by 5" flow area thats 25" long and stick with somting like this

thank you for the quick response toolmana and slick. I think there is more room for a intercooler then people believe. I took my a/c which helps some but there is gobs of room in front of that radiator :)

hey tim..... i think your oil filter could use some relocating!!! its in the wrong place!!!!! :laugh_ti:
j/k

couldnt you mount the I/C to the brackets for the trans cooler? well i mean on 93's and up.... allthough the I/C wouldnt be as big, but for people that want to run a low boost, or just for added protection, a long "skinny/short" would probably work there....
and you would get air straight from the "mouth" of the bumper....
but what the **** do i know...

A GEN II is a much better proposition for an IC. There is SOOO much more room. A gen I has very little room in front of the radiator. Most my bumper support is cut out.

did you keep your a/c ? cuz i ditched mine and there is tons of space also have a white gen 1 plenty of room for a intercooler that size with no cutting.
