Well I just picked up an entire intake that I plan on making my next project, but I have a few questions that I need answered first.
1. how big do we get the butterflies, throttle body bored?
2. what type of place will do this (including new butterflies)
3. what other opinions are there on gasket matching or rounding the edges?

I know that some of these things have been covered before, but since the forum crash there are alot of threads that I cannot open, so I thought that this would be the start of a new one! thanks in advance!!!

1. 37mm is stock 40mm is most common for BBB. TB dont worry bout. 65mm is good for well over 400hp.
2. any machine shop can handle the boring but for the price i have seen on ebay and places like SHO source it almost the same price in end. Plus its assembled.
3. Theirs always extuded honing. You can do both for maximum gains and peace of mind. The extuded process is a bit pricey but is worth a solid 10whp and 10WTQ (new place in PA and they do it for 350)

^^^^thanks man.....I did read that the tb was pointless, but I figured that I would check. I did find a place that would bore it out to 69-70mm for $135 which I didn't think was too bad! I really want to focus on the bbb, runners and tanks.....

you can also use acid to port the runners ...there is a good write up on it in the archives if you search. i believe it was originally from a probe forum but unsure. I have ported with the old way and the acid.. i think the acid is the way to go if you use a temp gun. this way you can remove the same amount of material from all parts of the intake runner Just my opionion

It may not be the first mod to do , but pointless...Doupt it. I did find a nice diff when I installed my 75mm.

I also noticed a small difference with a bigger throttle body just like PHOENIX. However, we both have a laundry list of mods done.
