Hi all, I’m new to the SHO community. I have a black 2017 SHO. I’m curious as to what the best air intake for the vehicle would be? I have a fear of open air intakes, drawing hot air in. Is there a good enclosed air intake that’s recommended? Thanks in advance!

Yes, the factory air box is all you need. It is a cold air intake that will flow more air than the stock engine can use. You can use a K&N panel filter but, IMHO, that is a waste of money. If you are doing power mods, you are back to an open air box with a housing trying to keep engine heat away from the filter.

My local track doesn't open until April. I've been playing around with my factory airbox system. I can't wait to see if a make any "free" power.

IMO, a K&N drop in filter is all you would need. It immediately gives you better throttle response and a sweet subtle intake whistle. It also makes a huge difference with turbo spool once you upgrade your DPs. Lasts a lifetime and requires minimal maintenance. Doesn’t cost much either.
