The passenger side front manifold bracket is squished into place with a bracket that connects to the alternator. Will it hurt anything if i remove said bracket to get the manifold bracket into place more easily?

the manifold bracket itself is not as crucial to have on the car as the alternator bracket. I know its tough to get those passenger side manifold brackets off, but really you dont ever have to take that off to remove your manifold. Just remove the bolt on top and the manifold is accessible.

That front pass. side bracket is just as easy to remove as the others. Just loosten the bottom bolt and it'll slide right out. I think i had to fidget and wiggle mine around to get it to slide up...

Sucks rolling those valve cover gaskets dont it... :naughty:

*been there, done that* :frown:

Very simple job. I just spent Saturday doing my valve cover gaskets. Take the time to take off that bracket. Just loosen the lower nut a bunch with a 12mm socket and tap the bracket with a rubber mallet. It'll slide out.

Stupid move: I cross-threaded my rear-drivers' side bracket at the manifold when I put that top bolt back in. The threads are soft aluminum and easy to mess up. Just don't do that and you'll easily get the manifold back on.

I tried to slide mine out with just the lower bolt removed. No go. I removed the upper alternator bolt and gently pried the bracket. Voila, the manifold bracket slid right out as I held tension on the alt. bracket.
