Anybody out there know where you can get new stainless hose clamps for the SHO intake manifold? My old ones are a bit ratty.

The sizes are :

9mm x 32-50 mm dia (runners)
9mm x 50-70 mm dia (tank connectors)

I found one source on the web, but you gotta buy a whole case!!

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and could find an outlet where you can buy them by the dozen instead of by the hundreds.

Thanx...

You should be able to get them thru FPN, or Josh at SHOnut. Maybe Mikey at Midwest has 'em? Last resort, the *shudder* local Ford dealer.

Nope, they are discontinued I have already tried. I have also tried hardware stores and the ones that they have are too wide, these hoseclamps of course are very unique.

use the search function on the forum. this topic has been discussed/investigated before. i dont recall off the top of my head who made the clamps. they have a website as well. if i recall, the clamps are a bit pricey but theyre the correct clamps, nonetheless.

If you are reusing the origional gaskets there would be a problem, but with new hoses there should be no problem. I am really ito the hose problem now as the ones that are on the manifold that I am going to be using are cracked, and have to be replaced. It seems to me that only OEM will work properly. The internal ridge in the hoses will cut down on turbulance in the secondary runner. Replacement hose does not have that ridge. With turbulance, the air flow slows down even if it should be almost lamimer.

Copied from SHOclub....

V6 Hose Clamps that will work in place of the factory clamps

UPDATE!

In addition to the clamps that are mentioned below, here is the name and manufacturer of the original clamps for the V6 SHO. If you can't find what you want from this place, then try the one mentioned by Gary below.

Here is the original manufacturer of clamps for the SHO motor:

Norma Products

Thanks to Paul Nimz for sending me the above info.

Editors comment: Longtime SHO friend, racer, engineer and mechanic: Gary Morrell has found some clamps that will work as a replacement for the stock clamps on the SHO V6 intake manifold. If yours are rusty and you need some new ones, check these out:

"Found a reasonable substitute for the hose clamps used on the manifold runners. They're an all stainless narrow-band unit made by Breeze, part number MAH-20. Runs from 1.18" to 1.75" diameter, about $0.90 each. They're not fully lined as the British-made OEM clamps were, but will serve the intended purpose.

Unfortunately, Breeze has nothing larger then 1.75" in a narrow band unit, so I'm still looking for clamps that will fit the connectors on the crossover tube and the splice adjacent to the throttle body. One could always splice together 2 small clamps to make a larger one."
