The other day I decided to paint the runners on my intake manifold. Everything went great, inake came off with no problems, paint went on perfectly, everything was all dandy....until I went to put the intake back on.
After fumbling with the inake to get all the bolts to line up and hopefully everything connected, I got the intake on with one exception, the back mounts that hold the back tank on seemed to practicall fall off, and with further inspection I could not see the bottom bolts that were supposed to be there, so I left them off thinking that they were just another thing to help hold the manifold on.
Then I connected everything else and started the car, It started perfectly and Idled well. Then I took it for a drive and noticed immediately that it was really weak and it backfired in low RPM's. Im not sure what the problem could be. Did I not put the intake back on correctly? It seems to be all sealed up. Is there a sensor that I missed? Grounding Issues? Im lost. PLEASE HELP!
Do the back brackets that connect to the rear tank help ground the DIS?
Are there any vac hoses that are hard to see or get forgotten easily? I ran the codes and got a 111, so its not the MAF or any other sensor.
And oh yeah, the car was running perfectly before I decided to take the intake apart. DOH!
