instrument panal lights

hi i am new to this site and i have just recently purchased a 93 black on black 5sd sho. the problem is that the cluster lights dont work all the gauges work and the idiot lights work but not the gauge lights dont. i read on here that the dimmer switchs go bad but i picked up two from the junkyard and niether of them seemed to fix the problem i looked at the fuse block under the drivers side of the dash and all seem to be fine. is there another fuse block some where that i cant find or is there another common problem with these. is there a relay or a module that goes bad? also tried to remove the cluster but cant seperate the lower cable from the upper. if anyone knows a way to fix this please let me know thank you.

no i havent checked the bulbs i have a hard time beleiving all bulb would go out at once but it could happen. i cant get the cluster out all the way cause i cant seperate the lower speedo cable from the upper speedo cable. and no even if i roll the dimmer up all the way and turn the interior lights on, the gauges lights still dont work. i work nights so i really need the lights to work. any ideas that you have would be much apprecatited.

yes those lights work but they dont dim with the switch. when you turn the head lights on they dim a little as normal. but when you roll the switch they dont dim or brighten. im thinkin of tryin a brand new switch instead of the ones i got from the junk yard but i dont know if its going to matter. i think something else might be the problem.

95 atx sho...tach will not work

sorry not a big emailer but you have a bad tach my friend... either replace the whole deal or just pull the tach out and replace that.

they got crappy motors that move the take in them (not sure they are called motors but the run off magnetic fields) the yamahammer revs to high and fast for the OEM tach thats my theory anyways
my tach is about usless since the redline it 7.5 and idle is 1.3 rpms and the secondarys kick in at 3.5 with nothing changed in programming
