Installing The Crank Pulley

what can i do to torque down the crank pulley on my atx sho. i know on the 5 speed shos i can just put it in 5th gear with the brakes on and i can tighten it. one the atx sho i dont know what to do cause no matter what the engine just spins. does anyone have an idea of what i can do?

impact gun? i don't know if you're supposed to tighten bolts with it though.

on hondas, you could stick a screwdriver in the flywheel also, dunno about shos.

Use a strap wrench like ISHODU said.. Put it on the crank pulley with the handle facing towards the rear of the car but at an upward angle... there is another pulley there that you can rest the handle of the strap wrench on. This way you can really torque on the bolt and the strap wrench will stay still so you can get it tight.

Crank Pulley Bolt

I have read long time ago here in the forum that it is also a good idea to put Blue locktite on the threads, which I did when I replaced my water pump and timing belt.
