so all went well with the cai install. the car sounds sick. i love it. but i'm wondering what to do with the sensor that sits down in the air box? with it just sitting there, is that whats causing the check engine light?

:thankyou:

yes it needs to be in the intake track some where before the tb. It the Iac and that tells the computer how much air is going into the tb.

umm...no,its the intake air temp sensor. as long as its plugged into the harness and it works,it won't throw a cel no matter were you have it.

Either drill a small hole in the intake tract and install the sensor, or use double sided tape and stick it to the inner fender below you're CAI.

Try reading the codes to see what is causing the CEL. It is important to get a true reading off of this sensor. The closer to the TB the better but definitely needs to be in the air flow going into the engine.

Absolutely true - the pcm will adjust timing based on the intake air temp, and if its just laying in the engine compartment, it will read too high, and the pcm will pull out timing, and you will not get the performance you want/need.
