I see alot of you guys with boosted cars registered on the road. I was just wondering how some of you guys deal with it? Do you cheat?

The problem Im having now is that my SC'd 91 will be needing inspection soon, and with emissions getting more and more strict theres no way I can get around it. Putting the car back to somewhat stock wouldnt be in my interest unless I was going to sell it. No matter what, if I keep the car boosted, I want it to be registered. Its too much of a costant burden to my pocket just to be able to enjoy a few times a year. I have alot of fun with it, I love the car, but I think it may be time to retire it.

Maybe tommorow Ill think differently about it, but right now I wouldnt mind stripping it. Because I could never have the patience to wait around to get a fair amount for it as a whole

Full vehicle or just emissions? We only have emissions here. On my blower car, I detuned it, put pump gas in, and swap in a catted Y. It passed fine.

If it's full vehicle, find out what the criteria is.

The car isnt fit for a full vehicle right now, but it wouldnt be a problem passing. I was more concerned about emissions. Thanks for the input, Ill try that.

My car passed safety no problem, but that really don't have much to do with the modifications anyway. Emissions though, I "knew" a few people and that did it for me.

Detuning should work, Josh detuned his car and it passed properly.

Josh's car also passed like this. With a good tune, a blower can actually reduce emissions compared to the same motor n/a.

Swapping the y-pipe would normally be the only hard part, but on your car it shouldn't take too long.

half-way there, I think.
I pulled the spout and passed with no problem. It passed with better numbers than it had N/A. Of course only 10 degrees of timing helps that alot!

Both my 94 SHOs were originally non-Cali cars, with no EGR.
Even running perfectly, they barely pass emissions for Califonia.
My smog guy simply pulled the SPOUT himself to make it easier.
