Anyone encounter a nav fault? Upper right corner of touch screen says insert sd nav card. Error message pops up says insert valid SD card asks to run from SD card or turn by turn. This seems to be intermittent as of now. Currently on the a6 card which I know is out dated.

Thanks

Have you tried reseating the SD card? ;)

Yes. It will work for a bit then give the fault message again...going to swap the card out with another to see if it is in fact the card dying before purchasing a new one.

My wife's 2015 Focus did this. After some card troubleshooting that didn't work, Ford replaced the Sync control module, which fixed it. Not sure about Taurus, but Ford increased the warranty time on this part for the Focus.

I saw the original post with the end of April time stamp so that rules out one theory but something to consider for future info.

During extremely cold weather that fault may come on when first starting the vehicle. Essentially the interior get so cold and it is possible for a very small amount of moisture to get on the SD card contact surface. Easy enough fix..... and it worked for me in three Pittsburgh area winters. Remove card.....abd warm the card...Usually in a microfiber or dustless towel as last resort in the palm of your hands for about 5-10 seconds.....dry off and that should to it. Reseat card and it might take a few seat/remove/seat cycles to fault to clear but it always did with mine.

Extreme weather I am talking low teens and extremely clear and dry skies.

a rare fluke indeed but this should help out.
