I'm doing a clutch job on my 90 sho. I installed the flywheel. made sure the clutch was in right. I used the alignment tool, and installed the pressure plate. We fought the tranny to line up, Had about a 1/4 to 1/2 inch gap between the two. I installed one half shaft, and was spinning it. They finally slid together. but I can still spin the shaft by hand. A friend said i would be able to until I installed both. I dont thing you can get the tranny and engine to mate with out the input shaft in the clutch disk. Does this sound right? Any help would be reat before I finish bolting it in.

You are correct. The bellhousing will never mate to the block without the input shaft being completely enguaged with the clutch.

When you turned the cv shaft, it spun the input shaft, allowing it to engage the clutch disc.

Have fun finishing the install.

Thanks. It says in the guide here that you wont be able to spin the half shaft. This is the only thing i'm worried about. I REALLY don't want to fight this thing back in. So far I only broke one bolt on the exhaust manifold .
