Yeah, the breakfast group is the real SHO group...now.
I was a member of NESHOC from 1994 until just recently. I let my subscription run out since I no longer own a SHO and since you can access the autocrosses without one anyway. When the SHO was owned, in general, by older, typically wealthier groups, there were numerous club meetings, drives, BBQs and weekends in Maine at Peter Proach's(IIRC) place. Autocrosses were an integral part and those who participated know how much better you got to know the SHO and how much fun it was. It's too bad the younger crowd didn't want to join. Anyway, the club also was beneficial for the discount at the Victory, Dave Dinger, Herb Chambers, etc, Ford dealers.
Things change, the SHO has gotten older. Most don't want to take it to the dealer for repairs. Most recall work has been completed. Yeah, the autocrosses have maybe a SHO or 2. But at one time, being a member was beneficial to the SHO enthusiast.
Personally, it's too bad that I don't have a SHO anymore. It's also too bad that I couldn't attend the breakfasts. I've made innumerable meetings, autocrosses, and cruises. I went to Indy last year, so I do still have a fondness for the SHO. I can't make it on the 17th, I'll be in Florida. But hopefully, you'll see me in the future.
