Alright, well...I changed my oil about 2,000 mile ago and I just had to add a quart today. So I'm thinking it's time to change my vavle cover gaskets, and besides I am getting sick of the smell of buring oil. :D I was just wondering if you guys could give me a website or 2 that you trust buying stuff off the internet, thats relativly cheap, and fair. I also noticed that Im starting an exhaust leak, so it looks like it's time for a cat back! **** I will most likly take it to a local muffler shop, and have them do all of the bending and welding, but I was thinking about buying some mufflers and taking them in to them to have 'em installed. Anyone have any suggestions for some good mufflers, and tips that are pretty close to the stock look? As far as sound goes, I kinda want that same stock sound, but I can deal with it being a little deeper and more aggressice sounding. laugh_ti
Oh, and one more thing that I need are rear strut mounts too. I was just wondering if you guys suggest putting new struts in while doing these or not? Mine are ok, and dont have too much sag in them, but I just wanted to know if its not a good idea to just put in the mounts and leave everything else original. Thanks for any info guys, and please give me lots! I really should start fixing these problems ASAP before I get overwhelmed.........or my trans goes out! nono headbang

If you are ordering valve cover gaskets and the spark plug well seals order them from a local Autozone, it'll probably be the cheapest source around for them.

If you're losing that much oil, the valve covers gaskets most assuredly are not your problem.

You are either burning the oil through the valve seals or you are leaking oil from the cam/ crank/ pump/ oil pan seals.

The burning oil smell is most likely oil leaking off the front of your motor and dripping on the cat.

After my experience with the GTP last week, I would be driving any car that's leaking oil onto exhaust parts. I drop a couple drops of oil on my exhaust manifold and the thing went up in flames. eek!
