Two comments: Why on God's green earth would anyone sell or trade a car without first returning it to stock so they could use the tuning device on another vehicle? The key thing is bad enough but I would absolutely NOT want a tuned car that I couldn't return to stock when and if I wanted to.
There are a lot of people out there that don't realize you have to return a car to stock in order to use the device on another vehicle. Original owner probably learned that after the fact and that's why he's seeking out whoever bought his car (the OP).

Hopefully the original owner and the OP can work something out that benefits both parties.

I would also be curious why he sold/lost the car without giving up the additional key and not removing the tune before hand. Did he lose it for storage or repair bills, accident to the insurance company or what. You bought the car, you own the tune that came with it. Sell it back to him at a bit of deal for him or for street value & he includes your extra key & move on with a new tune.
