I'm pretty sure I need a clutch, but...

This is what happens.

-The clutch has been slipping more and more ever since I bought it. It used to be only after it got REAL heated like slipping it for a while to go up a hill, and it wouldn't slip anymore within a few minutes. I could still floor the gas in 5th gear doing 60 and it would hold. Now-a-days if you don't let even 1st gear go to 4,000rpms, it will slip all the way to 6,800rpms or so and just stay there until the clutch catches up to it. Bad. It slips in all gears now, no matter what, if you floor it. It's almost impossible to stay in 5th gear and hold speed on the highway if I'm on ANY kind of incline. If I'm not, you accelerate about 1mph more for every mile lol, you have to be real slow.

-The clutch also makes a noise, a metal-on-metal rattle that I guess is the TOB, it ONLY makes it when I put ANY kind of pressure on the pedal though. If I BARELY press the pedal, the noise appears all the way until the clutch is fully disengaged, the only time it doesn't "rattle" is when the clutch is fully engaged.

-It is very hard to shift when cold, very frequently. If I am in 4th, I put it in nuetral to roll to a stop, and then try and put it in 1st when the light goes green, it can be a REAL pain in the ***. When it's cold and I'm just upshifting, it will seem like it has a slight grind in every freaking gear, no matter how slow I go or if I push the pedal down till my foot goes numb, or even if the revs are all the way down to idle, it still feels like it's not disengaged all the way. When it warms up, however, it will get quite a bit better. When I shift to 1st leaving a stoplight, it will go in fine, when I'm upshifting while driving, it will go in fine. However, it still slips of course, and it still rattles.

-I do the adjustment thing, pull up, and I get nothing. If I push the adjuster and hold the pedal, it will click, but I believe it doesn't hold that position.

So...since it feels real bad sometimes going into gears, and I try my best to baby it still and I am forced to drive it, am I doing any damage to the gears or transmission by shifting it when it's a pain in the *** sometimes? And what do you think that rattle is?

lol I'd love to have a new clutch...but at the moment I have no money, and my only trade I can offer anyone is this computer I'm on...lol...but I dunno if anyone's willing to do that.

I'm trying to go easier and easier on shifting, trying rev match as best I can, and trying to wiggle it between the gears when I downshift coming to a stop....
