I have a 1992 MTX w/ 107,000 miles and I want to put a hidden ignition disable switch somewhere above the pedals but I dont know what to do, or how and where to connect the switch in order to make it work properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Also I just broke my parking brake cable off and i was wondering where I can get a cable small enough to replace it because the original cable is like 1/16 inches. I was all frayed at the end so i had to cut it and then I realized I couldn't use the same cable again because I cut too much off. DOH!!

Thanks Again

I have thought about this myself. You could hook one up to the wiring that goes to the clutch. There is a switch down there that requires you to depress the clutch pedal to start the car. I know a friend of mine disabled the switch on a pickup but I haven't really looked at the one in the SHO yet.

You may want to keep the clutch switch intact and just disrupt power to it. If you bypass it there is always the chance you will start it in gear accidentally and possibly damage people or property.

I have been wanting to do this as well. I think Scott has one on his car, I was thinking of asking him which wire he did it off of. I was thinking of putting a switch on the fuel pump. Somebody that works with me just had his 87 Grand National stolen. It was the cleanest one I have ever seen. He used the insurance money to put a down payment on a new Lightning.

It's a good idea. I haven't acted on it yet but I will get around to it. These cars are very easy to steal. Make sure you hide the disable switch.
