I just changed my alternator and to get to the bottom bolt i had to take off the idler pully now after installing the alternator my idler pulley is touching the alternator and i tried to start it and the drive belt slipped off the idler pulley... is there something i am forgetting or not doing right, this is the first time i have changed this alternator so I am not sure if i am doing something wrong. If so can someone point me in the right direction...

How about using the same thread you started yesterday instead of starting a new one.

You probably put it on backwards. The "eye" in the middle of the pulley that the bolt goes through only works one way. Try flipping the middle piece and see how that works out for you.
