I need to get new hardware that raises and lowers the idler pulley on the rear belt (power steering belt). The hex head on the jack-screw that is currently on my car is completely stripped out and this is not a serviceable part so Ford can’t get it for me. I have been looking everywhere and I have been unable to find any old SHO's that still have the bracket and hardware assembly still on it. I am about to the point where I am going to have to find a machine shop to make me one but I'd rather not if I can avoid it. If anyone could give me an idea where to get this or what size, length, and pitch the thread is for the jack-screw (show below) I would appreciate it.

p.s. This is for a 1990 MTX....

Thanks,

Jeff

Your best bet would be to take the hex head cap screw to a hardware store. Find the right length and thread size I think its a M8 but can't be sure. The only issue you will have is that the threads will not be on the whole length of the screw. So you will need to get a Die and cut the rest of them yourself then you should be all set.
