Ok guys I have a problem with my temperature getting too high at idle. When I'm driving my SHO and its like in traffic or when my car is barely moving the temperature seems to get really high like to the "N" or a little above that. Is this normal or do I have a problem on my hands? I recently changed to a low temp and though that would fix the problem, but it seems to still exist. I also changed the radiator cap and and the coolant flushed not too long ago. Another thing I did is replace the Engine Coolant temperature sensor. So I dont know what might be the problem? Could ***** Autozone parts instead of buying OEM parts cause this problem?

Go check to see if your fans work.

It is also unlikely that the mentioned parts purchased from AutoZone have anything to do your perception of a "problem".

The only way to know if there is an actual problem is to measure the operating temperature of the system using an independent measuring device. The fan(s) should kick on (low speed) around 210-215F if the system is operating normally. Turning the AC on should kick on the high speed fan.

It is worth the $8 or so to replace the gauge sender for the dash. They are fairly repeatable (although not terribly accurate) with a good sender.
