I recently purchase and am a very happy camper with my new 1994 SHO with 140K on the clock and now is my first project car I plan to keep. I am slowly repairing all the bits and pieces not working. So far, I figured and sorted out the Keyless remote after an hour or so over 3-4 nights. (One key element to re-setting the key pad is making sure all the DOORS are LOCKED!) Worked like a charm once the factory code was initiated.

My next challenge is how to make the remote trunk release work. I looked in the trunk for a cable, however, I realized that if the remote key FOB released the trunk, perhaps it is an electronic release. Yes? No? The feel of the DRIVER side REMOTE has no resistance. Any help or tips would be appreciated. Thanks

Look at the latch on the trunk lid. There is a small plug going in. 2 wires that activate the gizmo from the fob. There is a rod going into it probably covered with a Styrofoam sleeve that goes to the lever inside the car. There is very little tension so your not going to feel much. So the lever is manual so you can open the trunk with no battery in the car

and the cable is a typical bowden wire, and the outer housing adjusts at the front driver's seat, so if the cable has stretched you can adjust it so it work again.

OK, I took apart the trunk latch release and confirmed the cable was attached - see photos. They are 8mm bolts and the "Bowden wire" was attached and home. My wife pulled on the latch and absolutely no movemnet on the cable what so ever. Is there an adjustment at this point, because the Bowden harness did not move much and I believe it to me a mounting harness only. I went to the release next to drivers seat and took it apart only to find a STEEL cage surrounding the cable attachment point with no access. Anyone in the BODY business know a trick to get through this metal cage? (I even took the plastic carpet trim piece off to no avail.. so as far as this trunk release project I am still Stuck in first gear..... (Note, I am searching for trim pieces for front seat controls for both passenger and driver side, it's how I bought the car last week)

It does look locked in position, there would be visible popup if it were unlocked.

Trying to help bud so what I just did on my 94 was took off my trim and pulled up carpet and I don't see an adjustment at the lever or at the least to the back of the drivers seat. You can however see the cable clearly to see if it may be broken or stretched. There are 2 screws under the carpet that hold that metal cage in

the thing is locked. by the driver's seat it says "push to lock trunk" and it is pushed down, therefore it will not unlock the trunk. put the trunk key in the little slot thing and turn it, and the stainless part in the center will pup up around 3/8" to the unlocked position - then when you lift the lever the trunk will open.

No, it does not open. Earlier I meant "downs not move", was the collate at the trunk latch on the trunk lid when I had it apart. I will try to take out more screws securing the carpet and see if I can access the cable.
