IAT Mod?

I noticed this on my 95 MTX I just bought. I dont have a scan tool but im assuming this just lies to the PCM about the IAT? Has anyone seen this before? Is it helping or hurting performance/mileage?

Its seems to be on of those ebay crap chip that claims it gives you 20hp , while in reality , it tricks the PCM with wrong temperature infos.

Strip it off.

the 'free horsepower' that those give is by telling the pcm that the air temp is lower, so its denser, so it pumps more fuel into the engine. since the SHO runs rich at WOT stock, all that does for a SHO is reduce the gas mileage and possibly mess up the emissions under closed loop.
it should be removed.

Some cars do benefit from these but as stated the SHO runs rich with a factory tune especially in the higher RPM range.
