I wonder why this tranny was shifting funny ?

VSS is totally totalled....heck looks like it was on fire.

It ran, just shifter funny and the CEL was always on. That's the O2 sensor wires laying on the tranny too

The transmission that came out of my car was also a "Quality Rebuilt" transmission, I'm sure the transmission was well rebuilt, but appearently they had better things to do than to make sure the fluid lines going to the cooler were not kinked.

I'm skeptical...the shift indicator on top of the tranny is toast as well, so I'd think the EEC would have difficulty telling park from drive from neutral. Woulda been tought to start, eh?

The shift indicator is fine, still moves, just has a lot of gunk on it

Ah, looking more closely at it now it does look just gunky. Previously I thought it was melted or destroyed, which would have been a problem.
