Hello everyone;

I am Blk89 from Atlanta.

I purchased my SHO in Feb 1989. Yes, I know; that is likely before you were born. My car is obviously black and it has 55K miles and has never seen ice or snow.

I wrote articles for the SHO Registry quarterly magazine and helped to organize the 1993 and 1999 conventions here in Atlanta.

It was here in south Atlanta that SHO #001 came off the assembly line with Ford and Yamaha executives shaking hands and bowing as they admired their work. All the V6 cars were built here in Hapeville GA at the Ford plant (RIP) that is now occupied by Porsche North America headquarters. Hallowed ground Poor-she people. They have a small track and Drivers Experience at the site.

From a Gen 1 guy to all you Gen 4 folks and those in between; many happy miles to you.

Welcome!

Not only was I born, I drooled over the ‘89 when I first learned about them. Eight years later, my first car was an ‘89...Mercury Sable. :(

Well I drooled over the sable years ago. The aluminum body ones with SHO motors! That would be a cool collector piece if Ford would have let them out

Yeah that’s a shame. Am I correct that the whereabouts of the one built is still unknown?

It's been so long I don't remember the final dispensation of all of them. I know those were supposed to be destined for the crusher. I wish one or two made it to a museum or corporate collection somewhere.

CHeck out this reddit post
