i pulled some codes, 173,177 and 542, did a search, but still unclear, please help!

the update is this. Basically when i went to check the wires and plugs, one of the damn wires, wasnt "snapped on" all the way, so i think i was running on 5 cylinders for a longggggggggggg time. Because now i dont have that hesistation and regain my power. Hence the intermitten problem, making contact, then not making contact, cause it wasnt in all the way. Now i just have a suspension issue making my car kinda slide when i take a hard turn, Slide as in my tires feel like there gonna bend and collapse. Im thinking strut rod bushings. Since the tokicos and eibachs and brand new

Great, I was kinda hoping that your problem would have been something else. I was having the same problem with my car, gas mileage dumped from about 23-24 MPG to like 18 MPG. Sometime the car wouldn't start unless I floored the gas on startup. Weird thing was I never got any codes from the car. Before I was getting a random 114 code for the ACT but I pulled the sensor and tested it and it was fine. Haven't had a problem with starting the car lately but the gas mileage has still be bad. I guess I'm going to have to get a fuel pressure gauge and check it out.
